About Sofia

Italian-American soprano, Sofia Gotch Caruana has been praised for the “brightness and clarity” of her sound and her “command of style and diction.” An engaging performer, Sofia’s range spans the comedic and ethereal roles such as Titania to the emotional intensity and humanity of title roles such as Juliette and Gilda.

From Oakland, CA, Sofia began her performance career studying the music of language in literature and poetry, learning to make deep connections with text and narrative. Today, Sofia finds that her background empowers her performances to sparkle with complexity and vulnerability, bringing characters to life with exceptional nuance and color.

Alongside her budding performance career, Sofia is a passionate arts administrator, currently holding the title of “Programs & Marketing Manager” for Classic Lyric Arts, a nonprofit arts traning program for emerging singers and pianists.
